Travel to San Felipe
San Felipe is thought to be the next Costa Rico, but why? What does that mean? Well, to start, San Felipe is a small town in eastern Baja California on the Sea of Cortez. It is just below the Colorado River delta, or what’s left of it, and is becoming the flagship town in Mexico’s Green Corridor.
The Green Corridor is one of Mexico’s steps toward a renewable future. Along the southern border of New Mexico and Arizona, the border is the start of this ‘green’ part of Mexico.
Cities and towns along the coast of the Sea of Cortez have to abide by a few laws that prohibit improper waste management and require green energy to be used by new developments.
International Land Alliance has created two real estate developments that abide by these laws and have essentially created two off-the-grid communities in the heart of the Gulf of California.
Northern Mexicali is primed for major investment, and we believe we are going to be the first American company to start the rush on this hidden gem. If you are contemplating checking it out, let me tell you a few places to check out while you’re there.
San Felipe Malecon
The boardwalk in San Felipe is along the playa. It is a vibrant area full of street vendors selling some of the best tacos, as well as some amazing San Felipe Mexican Restaurants.
We think this area has some of the best tacos we’ve ever had, and as San Diegans, that’s a big thing for us. San Felipe Mexican Restaurants are truly one of the best things the town has to offer, and if you want to check them out or need a travel guide, visit here for a list of some of our favorites.
Valley of the Giants
Down the road from San Felipe is another national park, Valle de los Gigantes, or Valley of the Giants. This historic site hosts giant cacti that have been a popular tourist site for some time.
These giant cacti have been around for centuries and give the region a unique, otherworldly landscape. You can find some of the largest cacti here, some of which grow to be over 55 feet tall.
These are only two unique destinations you can visit when living in San Felipe. Visit here for more attractions around San Felipe. But if you ask yourself where in San Felipe you should set up your home, we have a few suggestions.
Sierra de San Pedro Mártir National Park
This beautiful national park is a mountain range that cuts down the middle of Baja California. The mountains in this national park have been compared to the Alpine region of the Alps. The mountains cut through the baja peninsula. The mountains in this region even get snow in the winter and are a popular tourist area for Mexicans, Canadians as well as Americans.
Sierra de San Pedro Mártir National Park is a great place to hike or camp for the more adventurous people buying a home in Mexico, or just a great place to check out a Cardon Cactus as it’s only a short drive away from San Felipe and a fun visit.
The Beach
The interior of Baja California is beautiful, but we’d be lying if we said that was the main draw of San Felipe. The beach is beautiful and serene as we are in the northern part of the Sea of Cortes. The water activities available are truly the most fun. You can spend an entire week on the water and never get bored. We recommend deep-fishing.

Rancho Costa Verde
International Land Alliance is working hard to develop a beautiful piece of land just south of the town center. More than 1,000 lots and 70 homes have been built at Rancho Costa Verde, and if you are looking to buy property in Mexico in 2022 and beyond, this may be the development for you.
Rancho Costa Verde is a gated, beachfront community that also boasts a fabulous hotel and pool. Just about every home has easy access to the playa.
Whether you are looking to rent or own or just want to get away or stay for a while, Rancho Costa Verde has accommodations for you and your family. Not only are you close to so many wonderful attractions, but you also have the security and privacy you need.
Oasis Park Resort
Our other development is also on the sea of Cortes and boasts a small man-made fishing marina. We recommend catching a fish and making fish tacos, just don’t forget to share.
This development also hosts a spa and restaurant and easy access to the highway that gives you easy access to San Diego, Ensenada, as well as Tijuana.
Best Time to Go
San Felipe is a traditional Mexican community that has many amazing traditions. For instance, May 1st is known as Feast Day. This is when community members from all over travel to dance and feast. It is said that the plaza floor gets worn down to a bowl by the end of the day as men, women, and children participate in the pageantry.
We love this town and believe in the success of the area. If you want to check out San Felipe and want to stay at one of our condos, please visit us on our website.
